Saint Emilion is an absolute must see! The architectural heritage and rich medieval history along with the beautiful vineyards is why Unesco listed the village as a World Heritage Site. The world famous vineyards and wonderful tasting wines also means lots of tastings available in the shops and Chateaux.
Many different kinds of tours are available everyday. From the magnificent churches with underground caves to walking the vines. You can also learn how they grow the grapes and different grape varieties. All about picking the grape and the process to actually produce the wine which is very interesting. Bottling and then onto the most important we believe, the tasting. People are waiting just to share their passion and knowledge with you. For those of you with children there is a little train which will give you a tour of the village the fun way.
Restaurants are in abundance located outside on the cobbled streets. This is where excellent French food is eaten and that wonderful Saint Emilion wine is drunk. Specialist shops also for those wonderful macarons which Saint Emilion is famous for. Not only do they look amazing they taste great too. Alongside all the wine shops and restaurants there are pretty little independent shops which ladies just love. Many little shops to buy those trinkets to take back home with you. It all adds to giving the village a lovely feel.
Throughout the summer months Saint-Emilion hosts many different events including the famous Jazz Festival. Markets are also held often so it’s worth checking at the Tourist Office for further information about events and what is on offer.
